Open Europe invites you to attend a speech in Brussels by the person who has been tipped to become US President Donald Trump's ambassador to the EU:
Dr. Ted Malloch on “What the new US Presidential administration means for Brexit and the EU”
One day before US President Donald Trump’s visit to Brussels where he’ll attend the NATO Summit and meet European leaders, Open Europe is hosting a speech by Dr. Ted Malloch. He has been tipped by many news outlets as the new United States Ambassador to the European Union but is yet to be confirmed. He’ll discuss “what the new US Presidential administration means for Brexit and the EU”. The speech will be followed by remarks from Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, the director of ECIPE, a think tank dedicated to supporting free trade, and a Q&A session with the public.
Dr.Malloch is an American academic, consultant and television producer. Previously, he worked in capital markets, served in senior policy positions in the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and in the U.S. State Department, held a senior position at UNECE and was on the executive board of the World Economic Forum. He has earned his Ph.D. in international political economy from the University of Toronto.
Hosuk Lee-Makiyama is the Director of European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) and a fellow at the department International Relations of the London School of Economics. He’s a leading author on trade diplomacy, EU-Far East relations and the digital economy. Prior to joining ECIPE, he was a senior advisor at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represented Sweden and the EU at the WTO and the UN level.
